Margalla General Hospital
Margalla General Hospital is a teaching hospital of Margalla Institute of Health Sciences (MIHS). It is a welfare hospital established in 1999 in thickly populated area of Pir wadhai, inhabited by relatively low socio-economic class,with a sole purpose to provide them modern medical facilities at negligible cost close to their door step. So far it is the only such modern facility in this slum area serving the local population for more than a decade.
This hospital has got a total capacity of 100 beds. This hospital comprises of three floors including outdoor units, medicine and surgery wards for both male and female patients separately, operation theatres, ICU, labour room, emergency room, minor OT, sterilization room, X-ray room, medicine and surgery consultant clinics, mother and child health clinic, dental clinic, physiotherapy clinic, pharmacy and laboratory.
Our casualty is 24 hours open and gives emergency cover to the patients. Nearly 200,000 patients have been treated in this hospital so far, in the past 10 years which makes it an average of 20,000 patients treated every year, till now, including all the departments.
